DJERDAN
I must be honest. Wham am I saying? I am always honest. I was honest in the beginning. So, why should anything hurt me. Why should what he does or who he sees hurt my feelings? Especially if he was honest also. I’ll like to think that if I am thinking about him, then he is doing the same for me. Really, I would but I am not sure. I’ll like to think, If I am discussing him to my friends, then he is doing the same about me.
I think we would have had been good friends. We were good friends in the beginning! I miss that friendship. Us just being friends. But too soon we were attracted and one thing led to another. I think it is because I could feel his soul almost on mine. I let him just rule for a while. And I know he could feel mine. But we never spoke about it. We always left it in the air. Dangling. So when we did start talking, it was almost hard. Besides, I didn’t really want to talk. I just like wanted to continue being friends. Well, I didn’t want to continue being friends but I didn’t want to talk either. I just wanted to be cool with him. Leave our relationship the way it was. Now its worse. Oh, listen to me. I am confused! At least that’s how I sound.
I turned him down. When he wanted to be more than friends. And when I begin to miss him, I called him but- but look now he stood me up.
I feel like he stood me up on purpose. Like he kind of planned it. I can’t believe this. First I saw him with someone else then he stood me up?
Oh, there he goes! Lilly, he’s here!

James Work
A handful of my boy students write sloppy. James is usually the main one. That’s why when he showed me his homework, I took a picture for memories. As proof that he can write neat. He’s can be a bit lazy sometimes.
Speaking of handwriting, you remember when you were young and could not wait to learn how to write in script? Well, that is what my second graders are feeling now. All of them are learning to write in script.
Turn the Page
The great thing about summer is Dumbo, Brooklyn. All the galleries are open and art is just love in the air!
I went to a photography gallery. And across the hall was an exhibition about books and the creation of books, words and sentences.
I spotted this book with the pages cut evenly and put on display.
Notice how the pages are not torn pages but someone cut them evenly. How much time did that take?
Mozart
There was a show at the library for the children about the life of Mozart. The actors from the Traveling Lantern Theater Company had everyone laughing out loud (and the show is really for small children around the age of 5 and there was no one there that small). It also perked your desire to learn more about Mozart’s life. Kudos to Mr. and Mrs. Timothy R. Barakett who developed and supports this program.
Hands
Hands they Hold
Hands they Grip
Hands they can let go and turn cold
Hands they Hold
Hands they Grip
Hands they can let go and turn cold
work and toil with hands
Submit and hold my hand
Hands can even hurt you
Hands can even love you
But the Hands of Jesus, which were on the cross that day, they were nailed so your sins might be taken away.
He giveth and taketh away and with his hands He decorate.
He’s the greatest artist who controls the wind and the rain.
Oh, the power of his hands.
Dear Lord, take my hands.
I know there is love and power in your heavenly hand.
Take my hands, I’ll take your hands
And won’t let go.
Secrets
No matter where you work or play or worship you will have to deal with Secrets.
Secrets behind your back.
Secrets in front of your face.
Fun secrets.
Secrets that will bring surprises.
Secrets hidden within.
Sad Secrets.
Hurtful Secrets.
Whatever the Secrets are
Who ever is keeping them
Where can we find them
Where can we find the answers
I heard they are resounding in heaven
Polka Dots
My family was preparing for a family portrait. Polka Dots would do. Don’t over do it. Just something simple with dots.
That was the command from our photographer.
My little sister wore a polka dot dress.
I had on a polka dot hat.
My father wore a polka dot blazer.
My mom had on polka dot shoes.
My brother had on a polka dot tie.
When we walked into the studio, the photographer said, didn’t I say, don’t over do it?
So, my brother took off his polka dot tie.
My mom took off her polka dot shoes.
My father took off his polka dot blazer.
I took off my polka dot hat.
But my sister kept on her polka dot dress.
Polka dot.
Never over do it.
