Tolerance at Ground Zero
No Hate Here
Corrupt World
I walked into a gallery and was bothered. The artist took children cartoons and created them into evil or sexual objects. This photo of Barney was the least of what I saw. This bothered me because I could not understand who in their right mind would actually take kid cartoons and show them in such a demonic light. To me, if something is supposed to be innocent and good then it should stay innocent and good at all times. I think this is also why I can not understand movie directors who put out movies where the kids are the evil ones, even though I know children can be evil. I just see it as the world that we live in. The adults that surround the children or what they see and hear can put that spirit on/in them.
Life as We know It
I was rushing to a job interview and saw this image on the side of the building. I think the women coming out of the tress and the human beings being bigger then the city made me take the picture. The photographer took the photo sideways which makes them look like they are walking down the stairs. The trees add to the photo. A great place to put the advertisement.

Littering
The Library is closed until November because of renovations. I wish there was a place for the children in the mean time. I met Adam* leaving his building one day.
He came out and had a plastic bottle in his hand. I was far away up the block but notice that it was one of my old students. He took the bottle and threw it down the block, like it was a ball, then turn to go back inside. That’s when the teacher in me came out.
yo, Adam!!
He turned around really quick and waved. He acted like he was in a hurry all of sudden.
Hi, Miss Lilly!
I waved at him. I was still a little far way.
Wait Adam!
When I caught up with him I was out of breath.
How’s your summer going?
Good.
What are you up too?
Nothing much.
I can tell. You still reading?
Well….a little…
For real? Are you still reading?
Hee, hee…no.
Try to keep reading….Adam, why don’t you pick up that bottle?
He gave me a sheepish grin.
okay….
He turned and got his bike. He threw it so far, he rode his bike to pick it up and came back to me.
Now, let’s go to a trash can. You love your neighborhood right?
Yeah, I guess.
Then, why would you make it look dirty? You know what happens when you litter? It piles up and up and soon floats away to the beach and no one can enjoy the water. That’s why it’s so dirty now. Try not to litter.
Why?
Well, do you want your friends from cleaner neighborhoods to come to your house and see how you treat your living space?
No.
Well, try to keep it clean!
We threw his bottle in a dump and then he started showing off on his bike (which I raced him on feet before and beat him).
Look at those tires!

Let’s Go!
McDonalds
Pearl Paint Adventures
First, I was hungry and wanted something a little better than McDonald’s so I settled for Subway. I almost settled for mango’s from the street vendor but my stomach said no.
Second, I searched for a place to eat. Subway only had about six stools and all of them were taken.
So, I walked and walked with my food. Everywhere had people crowed there. So many people.
I walked down this lane to actually take a picture and decided to join these men on the step to eat.
I am glad I did too because I saw so much activity in a short time.
I wish every lunch time could be like this one. I thought.
I saw two more photographers come to take a picture of the same thing I took a picture of…the Pearl Paint Building across the street
I saw a lady walking about ten dogs at once.
I saw a young lady, maybe my age, walking with an umbrella to block the sun.
I saw a lot of men with fitted suits which I think is cute on men but it gets confusing…who is gay and who is not gay in a tight suit? And is tight the same thing as fitted?
I saw a lot of mail carriers…Do you ever want to follow a mail carrier? I wanted to get up and follow them! Just for fun. You know, one time when I was little, I ran away with the mail man’s mail?!
And best of all, it was fun being nosy. Listening to the three men.
