Patrick

Patrick

On Patrick’s last day at the center, we surprised him with a thank you celebration.

He’s been giving the children piano lessons for a year and some months so they have grown accustomed to him.  They learned so many songs- most of the songs we sing while going on trips- because of him and his beautiful playing.

The Musician’s Aid Society is the program that made it possible for Patrick to faithfully expose the children to the piano every week .  As a teacher I am very grateful for the time he spent with the children. There is something magnificent about live music as oppose to hearing it off the radio. And every lesson counts, especially for the child brain.

The happy children are now visiting the dorms. Yep, even little John wants to see what it’s like to live on a college campus. Higher learning for all!

Notice how most of them are boys. I only have 2 girls in my class this year.

Trip to Fordham University

Last month I took my kids to Fordham University to see what college is really like.

They had so much fun, they all said they couldn’t wait to go to college.

I never heard so much about Superheros until this year. I had more boys in my class than girls. This is Christopher during the winter. He’s excited about his batman hat.
