We slowed down for coffee at the famous Cafe Tortoni. It is like a museum with historic artifacts, painting and statues of famous Argentine people.  The building and interior design are old but well kept. You feel like you are in another time period just sitting there.

I ordered tea and lemon meringue pie. The pie was pretty to look at but did not match up with Mother Mack’s pie.

When I was a little girl, I used to buy lemon meringue pie from an old mother at my church named Mother Mack. When she died, I always wondered who would take her place. I haven’t found anyone yet. Not even in Argentina!
