Ice Cream Truck

On Sunday night after church the Ice Cream Truck rolled around . Mr. Smoothie must have been waiting for church to let out because he came at the right time.

I was a little reluctant to getting ice cream after I heard about the situation in Long Island (instead of severing the people ice cream, Mr. Smoothie was dealing drugs).  But I ended up getting a cone along with the rest of my brothers’ and sisters’ in Christ.

Mary Mitchell 4th Fashion Show

This pass Saturday, the 18th of June, was Mary Mitchell’s 4th annual Fashion Show.

The children came in excited as the adults. There was a feeling of intensity in the air. Everyone was working hard to win.

To win what? No one really knew. The grand prizes were top secret.

How to win? No one really knew. After all, the judges did not tell the audience exactly what they will be judging; you’ll just have to do the right thing to win.

The spirit of some of the children was what made the fashion show fun. Through their smiles and body language they showed a type of satisfaction. These children showed that they could care less who won a prize as long as they participated.

What do children really take away from a fashion show?

Heidi Merrick

I found out about designer Heidi Merrick from Refinery 29.com.

She doesn’t seem to have an outlet in New York so what I learned about her and her clothes is from her website.

The two skirts pictured here are two of my favorite designs I saw on the website.

The denim high-waisted skirt goes for 231.00. It’s very different and original. It looks a little asymmetric. The asymmetric look may be created from the way the model is standing; however, if you look closely at the skirt, the lines are all not the same shape. It’s a great design.

The black lace-layered  skirt is more common.  I’ve seen skirts like it before or at least the idea.  The Heidi Merrick skirt goes for 300.00.

Check her out at her website HeidiMerrick.com

Fishtail Braid Ponytail

I saw this and thought it was worth re-posting:

With the ponytail taking center stage this season and braids still a hairstyle mainstain, this pony-fishtail braid fusion we spotted on Russh magazine’s site proves to be an irresistible way to beat the summer heat. The style is way easier than it looks, and the addition of a fishtail gives a delicate and alluring appeal to the simple pony—not to mention it’ll keep your hair off your neck in hot and steamy weather! Here’s the how-to: Pull hair into a ponytail, then spray on a little dry shampoo if you need texture, or add a little pomade to make frizzy or thick hair more manageable. Separate the pony into two sections. Next, take small pieces of hair from the bottom of each section and loop over, alternating sides until your fishtail is finished. Secure with a binder and you’re good to go!
