I am so tired of working and this is a job I was hoping to get. My head literally hurts when I walk. Yet, instead of going to sleep I am up trying to tell someone else about my day. Which was okay. My body is just not coping with the fast change in my life. For some reason? I think my body got used to me sleeping late and working with the children. It doesn’t know why I dress up often and am very serious more than not. It is also trying hard to remember all the new names and faces. Plus I’m tired of men asking nosy questions like “where I’m from” or “what’s my religion”. I’m most certainly not used to men working up the courage to sit with me at lunch. UGGGGGH! Why does growing up have to be so difficult? I like to sit alone and eat not meet and eat. It just makes things annoying. Especially when your food is not an easy food to eat and be neat. I can say more but I promise my body I would pray about it instead of complaining about it.

Letting Go
I’ve learned that one have to let go of ones self to really let God surprise you! This is easier said then done. It’s so easy today to say : Let Go and Let God. But did you really think about these words?
Letting God may mean embarrassment to yourself. The human mind can not understand the concept of just total release. Things may seem a little weird. Letting God take control of the situation.
The next part that seems hard to one is to GIVE THANKS in the hard time. This is really hard! But it’s not impossible.
Church was great today and my day was great. God is Good and totally Real.
The 26th of the Month
I had an okay day until my heart was broken by stones and my feelings were hurt by words. After that, I thought I needed a walk. I started walking and couldn’t stop. I had no where in particular I was going but kept walking. I was enjoying the landscape of the Bronx and the words that were said to me were going away. The surroundings had melted away the hard feelings on me. I walked pass the library and pass the schools and pass the supermarkets and Spanish
bodagas and down the hills pass the churches and laundromats and pass the parks and then I got to a hill and it was a long way down. On the way down I passed many people. People who looked broken, children running, drunken men sitting down, young people on their way to parties, and I saw myself. Look pass them and kept walking. Along this hill was a Christian Book Store. I knocked once and my eyes met his. And he let me in.
I know in whom I Believe
I know who I bow down to in the morning
I know who comforts me when I’m in mourning
O I know who made the beautiful melodies
I know who made the dips in the trees
I know who color each and every leaf
I know who I serve, I know who I serve
I know who makes the angles in heaven sing
I know who makes the flowers spring
I know who created love in the air
I know there is a God out there somewhere
I know who I serve, I know who I serve

Today I came across a yearbook from the 70’s. It had very little words. Mostly pictures.
As I was flipping through the book I wondered what became of all the students.
No matter what became of them, I think their words are still alive.
I jotted down some of the senior quotations:
Don’t hate the Blacks
Don’t hate the Whites
If you get bit
Just hate the bite
-stephen a young jr.
the sun don’t come out
in rainy weather
but when you look them up
they’re still together
-Andrew Schiff

“Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance but the Lord looketh on the heart”. Eric Kramer (The Bible 1 Samuel 16:7)

QuickTime 3
We are in a place where everything is happening so fast.
These times are much different from our parent times. Children growing up now are so far advance then when I was growing up.
These times are QUICK
Children seem to have very little patience to learn and grow as children.
Yesterday I heard a child say he had short term memory. He forget things.
I wonder if the same child is going to use the term ‘Alzheimer’ to define his memory tomorrow.
Or just simply say he forgot.
One of my students ask me why I wasn’t married yet.
“You grown!”
I asked him why he wasn’t married yet!
You don’t just marry anybody.
“Oh, you have to find the special one for you huh?!”
But that is acceptable. I can understand that.
What surprised me is when I heard younger children discussing sex in details.
The leader of the bunch told the them “all you have to do is wear condoms”.
They were still in elementary school.
How would parents protect their children and make sure they are innocent?
Things Just Happen
Weird things happen all the time.
Like finding 11 cents twice in a week
Like looking up an author’s info to write him just to find out he passed away on that day 5 years ago
Like going into a place to inquire about it, just to get hired on the spot
Like thinking of a song, and soon singing it – making it your own and at the same time encouraging others
Like knowing how your day will go even before you go to work, school, or church
Like bumping into people you are trying to avoid what a feeling!
Like befriending someone on facebook just to defriend that same person the same day
Like walking into a place at the right time
Like loving surprises but always knowing when people are trying to surprise you
Like regret
regret just feels weird doesn’t it?
Like falling in love and then having to explain it. Why do people even try to explain it?
I guess they just like the feeling or reminiscing
Dejavu is something that just happens too! You never know if it happened or if you just had a dream of it!
I’m telling you, things just happen

Today was such a great day for me, despite the few mean people I met on my way.
Today was such a gorgeous day outside, despite the brisk breeze in the night.
Today was such a joyous day for me, despite the chains that tried to lock around me.
Today was such a God-given day, despite the corrupted world.
Today God surprised me with more of his presence then I even asked for.
Today God poured out his spiritual blessing on me and made me full and free.
I had no idea that I felt like a caterpillar until God gave me wings and gave me his beauty.
And the beautiful thing about today is God promise more and better days on the way.
So flowers get ready to bloom and devil be prepared to move cause when God gets ready
YOU got to MOVE and I’ll just Groove
“Caterpillars came from everywhere. Everywhere were caterpillars. One day they just piped up and left“.
Deacon Glassgow

all alone
seems like i am walking this lane all alone
seems like i am sitting looking out of the window pane all alone
seems like the birds know where to fly
and the dolphins know when to dive
but as for me?
i am alone
seems like the mail carrier knows where to go
but my destination is never fortold.
seems like i am walking alone.
seems like this world is not my home
and i am searching for a place to call my own
i feel like flying away
Okay so there’s a little boy
you probably know him.
he’s black.
everyone ignores him.
give him what he wants so
he’ll just shut up
but the thing is
he’s calling for them
they are flying away from him.
and you see it
you see them flying away from him
you want to help him out.
but don’t really know if he wants YOUR help
He’s also scared.
He scared of himself.
He’s not aware of his capability
No one wants to be associated with him
even his own family
He’s so small
But already in a world where everyone is flying away
and thats how he feels
“he’s born in a confused world because he is black”
is what someone said
another one said
“we gotta protect him cause he’s black”
the question is who’s gonna do it
if everyone feels like flying away
and if everyone makes him feel like flying away
“they are after him cause he’s black”
well, who’s after him?
shouldn’t we be after him?
