Ayden’s Arms

Ayden's Arms

Sunday was my father’s birthday. After the congregation sang Happy Birthday to him and the benediction had gone up, Ayden ran up on the pulpit to give my dad a huge hug.

Happy Pen-Pal Day!

Pen-Pal Day 7June 2nd, 2013 was the Little Flock’s second Pen-pal day.

Pen-pal day begun last year when I was thinking of fun ways to get the children to write. I thought it would be awesome if the Literacy Club could write a group of children. The  Children’s choir at my church, a.k.a the Little Flock was the perfect match.

For two years in a row, during Spring, the kids would begin to write each other with the hope of meeting up in June. (Kudos to Miss Lurgen, Bishop Green, and my dear Sister Latrina for allowing the children to write one another.)

This Pen-pal day the Little Flock sung ‘ Shout to the Lord’ (which was lead by Journey….the little girl with her arms crossed) during the service. After service they all ate together then did fun activities to ‘break the ice’.

A huge thank you to Jesus for letting Pen-pal day be a success and a big thank you to the parents who worked along with me.

American Museum of Natural History

American Museum of Natural History

This pass Saturday, I went to the Museum of Natural History with two little children from my church, Azeria and Jeremiah.

I received museum vouchers when I attended the Young People’s  Unity day at my church and planed to go to the museum alone; however, changed my mind and decided to babysit for fun…yeah, I love children that much!

I’m glad I did because we ended up hanging out with Therese and Peter. We met at the museum and had so much fun together that we plan to have another play-date this weekend.

While I enjoyed the Butterfly Garden, the Journey to the Stars and the other exhibitions I thought the Flight of the Butterflies was the best one! It’s a short documentary on the monarch butterflies. It speaks about their journey from the United States to Mexico every fall. Before I watch this documentary I thought the butterflies died at the end of the summer. I didn’t know they actually migrated across seas to a place in Mexico!

At the end of the documentary, two things came to me: God is simply AWESOME and I its time to travel to Mexico!
