The Last Watermelon of the Season

Summer time means access to real Watermelon from family and friends in the South.

The end of summer means cutting the last Watermelon from your family’s farm.

Spitting out the seeds and sucking the sweetness.

Slurping the juice.

Eating down to the rind.

And, getting ready for fall.

Fund Raising

Cook Book Activity

This summer my church had its 50th Holy Convocation. There was excitement in the air and great expectations.

To celebrate it, I along with a group of sisters and brothers created a cookbook using recipes from the saints in the church. It was a lot of hard work but worth it. The second week of the convocation, we sold the books along with other memorabilia to fund raise for the church.

Here Bishop Green is visiting our table. If you look closely, you will see he is holding a button, another item we were selling. My dad helped us make the art and taught us how to use a button machine.

Sitting next to me is Brother Junior Crawford. He helped me sell most of the buttons and once Sheranda left, took her spot. Caleb never left me.

Who left that Bike there?

Bike

This bicycle has been chained to the pole in front of my building since the summer time. It never moves and no one never rides it…I wonder if someone will ever move it. It’s getting annoying.

Bye, Bye Summer!

If you are in New York State, your summer has officially ended. Fall has begun. The nights are getting cool and the sun is setting earlier.

To give autumn a warm welcome I am posting one of my favorite pictures I took over the summer. It’s of a little boy being a little lazy. He wanted to sit down and scoot, so he added a crate to his scooter. Isn’t he creative?  I think we all get a little lazy in autumn but don’t forget to be creative.

Happy Autumn!
